Like every piece of gear in the Meandering Maker line, the Gen II is built to be as functional as it is handsome. 1" thick bridle leather strips that slide through leather pieces on the lid not only keep the bag and your stuff within secure as you tramp through the woods, they also function as always-attached bed roll straps for tucking a blanket, jacket, pelt, saw, etc underneath for quick access and extra utility.
The Gen II comes standard with a zipped pocket the full length and width of the back panel for keeping your extra-important stuff like your keys and your middle school diary fully secured even when the bag is open. Lined with 7oz bright orange waxed canvas you'll have no trouble finding what you're looking for even in low-light conditions.
The bottom of each Gen II is wrapped in 4oz bridle leather and has two thick bed roll strap tabs for strapping your gear underneath using your matching Meandering Maker bed roll straps (or any type of strap, really, just not as cool).
Similar to the Meandering Maker River Ruck, each side as a slip pocket for your quick-grab gear. One side is sewn closed at the bottom for securely carrying thin-but-vital kit like a folding saw or knife, while the other side is open at the bottom, perfect for anything with its own natural catch like an axe or hatchet.
Speaking of axes, the front panel on the Gen II sports a 4"x6" dedicated axe sleeve for even more carrying options. Sewn tight to the bag, this sleeve will keep a small or medium sized axe or hatchet securely while leaving wiggle room for a larger swell or flared handle.
Every Gen II comes with a 50" adjustable shoulder strap in matching bridle leather and matching hardware including a solid brass roller buckle and two solid brass swivel snaps for easy and quick attaching and detaching.
The shoulder strap attachment points are 1" solid brass d-rings strategically positioned on the back rather than the top or sides of the bag, making it easy and comfortable to open the bag while it's still hanging by your side when you're foraging, collecting tinder, or reaching for a snack.
At 12" x 12" x 4" (30.cm x 30.cm x 10cm) the Gen II is a ready-made EDC bag for your daily go-to items. Your favorite multi-tool, flashlight, and personal protection will have room to spare.
